In fact,       they were the reason I bought an SMS back in 1988 instead of an NES. I       am not ashamed to say that I had to make my dad drive to a specialty       electronics shop just to see them, and I have never seen their like       since. The sad thing is that I never picked up a set, or any 3D games       until the new millennium. But then I didn't pick up Phantasy Star in       the old century for the same reason. All those action games that I       loved were only $15-40, and these two items were $70+ each (not adjusted       for inflation).              Now that I have a set of 3D glasses, which I had to glue adult sized       earpieces to (my heed, it's like Sputnik), I genuinely regret not       skipping a couple of games. Space Harrier 3D, Maze Hunter 3D, Zaxxon 3D       and Missile Defense 3D, which was the only one I played prior to buying       the SMS, really do shine out among sprite based gaming.              To KKC's comments, I haven't actually seen the modern 3D effect on an       HDTV yet, but if it solves the slight flicker that I see in the Sega       Scope's effect, even on my RPTV, it really must be an impressive thing.        I still say that people are to vain to wear glasses for an entire       movie or game in mass. It may be a small market that adopts the idea       yet again.              --       Scott              http://www.gamepilgrimage.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
