From what I've seen, a lot of TVs still have the coax plug(for cable,
I'm assuming), but I have no clue as to how it's react to something like
a game system. I know I get weird issues with video output on certain DC
games(Marvel vs Capcom 2, SFA3), to the point of making them almost
   unplayable.

So far, I've yet to run in to any older system that doesn't work(at all)
via composite inputs on any given HDTV. One thing I can definitely tell
you, though, is that I have run across a lot of older RF adapters for
various older systems that are either damaged or just on their way
out...and I mean *a lot*. I don't know if the metal in them is just
breaking down, rusting out or what, but my various testing with stuff at
RGA, I know I've thrown away dozens upon dozens of them.

You got that right! About a year ago I bought my dream SDTV at Salvation
Army for $25: A 36 inch Panasonic Pana-black flat! Heavy as fuck, but
the picture is just so incredible...and with light gun games not working
on HDTVs, there's just no way I could live without it!
