   But is MEANS TESTED. Just shows how much YOU know from your   
   sheepshagging perch in New Zealand! In Australia, your primary   
   residence, the residence in which you live, isn't counted until you   
   reach a certain level of value. Our current house exceeds this level   
   anyway but a second house wipes all possibility of a government pension.   
   My retirement income (superannuation), also means tested, puts me well   
   above the limits anyway.

   4 car Garage in the backyard. Don't want to rent the place as I'd need   
   to rent a small factory or the like to store my cars then, or worse,   
   sell them. Better to keep the house and let family use it as needs   
   arise. My son lived there until recently when he bought his own house.
