Indeed: I had a cheap Chinese one which I bought beause my better one
had a blade which was a sizteenth of an inch longer than what was
permissable to carry (at the time) and I wasn't going to grind it down
to suit some asses in Parliament.

The blade of my chapo one bent and the bar which locked the blade
followed suit, with a zig-zag blade sticking up twenty degrees from the
   proper position.

I have it somewhere, waiting for me to build my forge, and to find the
right materials for making Damascus steel for a new blade.

The locking bar is easy to make from an annealed file - it shouldn't
need any heat treatment, but if it does, I can.
