   Well yes, Rigger. I do carry a knife and have since I was about 8   
   years old when my grandfather gave me my first knife -- and I promptly   
   cut myself with it. However, contrary to modern practices they did not   
   call 119 and alert the paramedics, didn't impanel a safety review of   
   the accident and it wasn't reported on the noon news. I walked about a   
   mile to get back to the house and my grandmother bathed the wound with   
   iodine ("feel it smart? It's killing the germs") and bandaged it. When   
   my mother attempted to admonish the Patriarch (my grandfather) he   
   simply said, "Boy's got to have a knife and they usually cut   
   themselves with the first one."   
      
   Of course that was then and this is now.... when your government (for   
   your own good) wants to keep you from harm by taking your knives away.
