   Nice one. and even possibly true that Clavell defined the term Tai-Tai   
   in the book. However there are other ways to learn about the Orient -   
   you can actually live here.

   Clever, you avoid explaining the Cantonese term, and thus avoid   
   displaying your ignorance, and slipstream along behind someone who   
   does know what the words mean (at least as used by foreigners). A   
   phony, aren't you? Trying to appear knowledgeable by using someone
