Retirement is for people who cannot cope. I could have retired at 55
but, since I enjoy my work, why should I? I've cut down my working week
to 2 - 3 days and, if I find myself no longer getting enjoyment from it,
I'll go and find some alternative to keep me occupied. I sure as hell
don't envy you your lifestyle. I'd rather be here with my extended
family. If you're living a better life Schweik, then it sure doesn't
look like that from here. The ONLY reason you're living in Thailand is
to eke out your pension a little further. You could only afford a
miserable existence back in the US. Your problem is that you aren't
living "in" Thailand. Rather, you're living on top of it in a
parasitical manner. You don't mingle with Thais nor do you speak, read
or write the language. In short, you look down on the Thai people and it
comes out clearly in your scribblings on SCT.
