I really would like to see the proof that he was a member of the Royal
Thai Tourist police. The reason I ask is that I did enquire of the
Thai Police about the volunteer police and they laughed. They told me
that it was a bunch of foreigners who had asked if they could act as
volunteers to help the tourists and the cops had told them that they
had no objection The cops then emphasized to me that they had no
authority and no connection to the Royal Thai Police, or any other
official organization that the police was aware of.

As I mentioned in another post, about the same standing as a hotel
doorman. Dress up in a silly uniform and tell people how to get to the
   zoo.

   Cheers,
