   Try it with some stainless steel and see what you get. xD You   
   prob'ly can't get it hot enough. Stainless steel tends to be   
   very heat resistant.   
      
   Bending a really thin carbon steel blade that way without heating   
   it could work. If heating it enough to make it glow the metal will   
   be dead soft and made not be able to make even a single cut. :/   
      
   Want toget into it any further just say so. :D
