This group seems really dead. If you are out there or if anyone can
   answer this, let me know.

My EDC is a SOG folder which costs me all of $30. I was considering
getting a Spyderco but wow, they are pricey with the ones that catch
my eye running anywhere from $200-$300. And I think they you can
have the blade made from near any metal. Does anyone think Spyderco
knives are 7 to 10 times better then a SOG? Every day cary, every day
uses. I'm not cutting myself out of an airplane or cutting down
trees. I think if I get a spyderco it will be because I want it I
guess that is what it comes down to.
Well, since this group seems defunct, I guess I just thinking out
loud. That just seems like a lot of money for a knife.
