XPost: talk.politics.guns, sac.politics, sfnet.alueet.suur-helsinki       XPost: aus.politics              The attack took place in Turku, a city about 100 miles west of       Helsinki. Police shot and arrested one suspect.              A knife-wielding attacker killed two people and injured six       others Friday in southern Finland.              The attack happened in Turku, a city about 100 miles west of       Helsinki, the capital. One male suspect was shot in the thigh       and arrested, police confirmed. Authorities said he likely acted       alone, but have not ruled out the possibility that there were       others involved, the Associated Press reported. The       investigation remained ongoing.              The attack comes on the heels of two terrorist attacks in Spain       on Thursday. However, Finnish broadcaster YLE, citing police,       reported that the Turku incident is not being investigated as       terrorism at this point.              YLE reported that three victims were being treated in intensive       care late Friday.              Finnish President Sauli Niinisto visited Turku Friday and called       the stabbing a "shocking and cowardly act," according to the AP.       He also said officials are working "so that all Finns are able       to feel safe."              In a tweet after the attack, police urged people to move away       from the city center, and they later tweeted that they are       searching for additional suspects. The BBC reported the incident       took place in the Puutori-Market Square area.              The AP reported Finland's interior minister, Paula Risikko,       announced security is increasing across the nation. Police asked       the public to remain vigilant, particularly in airports and at       train stations.              Local reports showed video of what appeared to be a covered body       behind police tape.              Following the attack, a video emerged on Twitter that purported       to show the attacker and other people running.              Some initially reported that the attacker could be heard       shouting "Allahu ackbar," but others pointed out that it's       actually someone shouting "varo, varokaa," Finnish for "watch       out."              https://www.buzzfeed.com/lissandravilla/several-people-were-       stabbed-in-attack-in-finland-       police?utm_term=.bnyRR4DWWw#.iynkkWEnnz              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
