   A WHITE supremacist who plotted a machete attack on a gay pride event   
   was yesterday detained indefinitely in hospital. Ethan Stables, 20,   
   sparked a huge armed police response after he boasted on Facebook he   
   was “going to war” and planned “to slaughter every single one of the   
   gay b*******”.   
      
   An innocent woman he mistakenly added to his closed neo-Nazi group   
   told authorities of his plan to unleash carnage at the New Empire pub   
   in Barrow, Cumbria.   
      
   Police found an axe and a machete at shaven-headed loner Stables’ home   
   when he was arrested last June.   
      
   Leeds Crown Court heard Stables searched online for information on   
   extremist groups including Combat 18 and banned terror group National   
   Action.   
      
   He also looked up videos depicting torture, murders and killing   
   sprees, and downloaded a manual on how to get hold of guns and build   
   bombs.   
      
   Stables shared hate-filled comments against Jewish, Muslim and   
   Pakistani people.   
      
   He filmed himself burning a rainbow flag, saying he wanted to see gay   
   people go “up in flames”.   
      
   Stables, who has an autism spectrum condition, was convicted of   
   preparing an act of terrorism, making threats to kill and possessing   
   an explosive substance in suspicious circumstances.   
      
   Yesterday, Recorder of Leeds Judge Peter Collier QC, told Stables he   
   posed “a very real risk to the public” but had been spared prison   
   because of his “severe” mental health issues. He can be released from   
   hospital detention only by a mental health tribunal decision.
