From: kenshain@gmail.com              I lost my way to the poetry group so I thought I'd leave this revised copy of       something I wrote here just in case anyone is interested:              Song to Bob              I'm here in this world sixty years from back then       In the times we all hoped for then would be when       We'd be seeing the progress and fruits of our dreams       Not the differences in what is and what seems.              Zippity Dee we sing you a song       'Bout the choices in life we learned that were wrong       For the price that we pay for a world gone astray       And the things that can happen when we go our own way.              You've thought of these things already I'm sure       And think of them nightly forever on tour       We all have these thoughts on this we agree       'Cause we know the masks don't make us anymore free.              Here's to Larry and Ratso and your favorite gumshoe       And those whose times have been lived around you       For the age of celebrity was borne to begin       And comes with a dollar and stays without sin.              It never mattered if I come or I go       Even if tickets are there for the show       Because all the words you've already sung       Will still be here long after we're gone.              Oh hey Bobby D you don't owe me a thing       All you ever wanted to do was to sing       And for all those words that you’ve ever been leavin'       I'd say that for now that we're pretty much even.              copyright © 2001, 2010 K.
