I'm with you. Ry has made so many contributions to the music world and
it's a shame he hasn't been recognized when so many lesser artists
have. He should make it in solely on the basis of Buena Vista Social
Club and his work on many other film soundtracks. But he's also among
the best guitar players in the rock world, especially slide guitar, a
great composer and songwriter. And who else has played with as diverse
a group as Bill Monroe and Doc Watson, Captain Beefheart, Taj Mahal,
The Rolling Stones, Ali Farke Toure and V.M. Bhatt?

Other mindboggling omissions from the HoF:
   Lowell George & Little Feat
Richard Thompson (don't think he's ever even been nominated!)
   Al Kooper
   MC5
   Jethro Tull (seriously??)
   King Crimson
Phish (even tho I'm not a phan)
   Los Lobos
   Brian Eno
   Willie Nelson
   Merle Haggard
   Link Wray
   Captain Beefheart
Carole King (as a performer; she's in as a songwriter)
   Warren Zevon
   Gram Parsons (!!!)
