   That's not what he said in "No Direction Home". He said he was not a   
   protest singer. When, at a news conference,  asked how many protest   
   singers there were (now my numbers may not be actually what he said, but   
   it really doesn't matter) he said 243; when asked again he said, Oh   
   maybe 247. In "No Direction Home", I got the impression that he was   
   being pushed towards being a protest singer rather then trying to become   
   one, and resisted.
