No idea. All I found on the net was somebody quoting more of the lyrics,
   without any other info:

We are the gears, we are the engines. We are the oil that keeps us
moving. We are the glass that they see through, we are the cowboys and
the injuns. They send us off, to fight THIER WARS, and give us
television. We are the cogs, we are the wheels, they want us all to keep
on moving. We pay their prices, we play their games, ride their buses,
ride their trains. And all to keep THEM, rich and safe and sane with
their provisions. They want us in their churches, synagogues and
temples. They want us all to lead by their example. The people have no
faces, the streets have no names, the houses have no numbers, the
   children play no games.
