It was two series of, say, 12 shows each of highly skilled       artists from different backgrounds and traditions. They just jammed in a       basically informal, non-studio setting - a Scottish castle, it was said.       Catching, eg, Emmylou Harris backing Dick Gaughan was great - interactive       and dynamic. That's the way this stuff _should_ be. Personal and live,       not passive listening from an audience.              Harris did great work and was on many of the shows.              I don't know just when they were made and as far as I know, in the US they       are only shown on the Ovation cable TV network. We get it on channel 125.       They are still occasionally repeated in the UK - don't know about Canada.              -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- ---        I am Abby Sale - in Raleigh, North Carolina              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
