   Thank you for posting this.  Hamish was a true great.  The article points   
   out one of the sad facts, that his public print production was so small.  I   
   hope one day the collection is printed: "singer Dick Gaughan, his friend of   
   36 years, wrote: "Hamish's life and legacy are a mass of contradictions. He   
   was our most important collector of folk songs, yet the bulk of his work   
   was for a university department and so lies in an archive, unseen and   
   unheard by the public..."   
      
   Perhaps he wouldn't mind so much - his personal influence on hundreds or   
   thousands of people may be wider more permanent than print would have been.
