|    Can Anyone Identify the Band?    |

XPost: uk.music.folk       From: sia@thePub.com              Looking through a VHS video of music-related videos I'd taped off the TV       in the early 1990's, I happened across a 2-minute segment of a       Gaelic-rock band performing the song "Alasdair MacColla", in Gaelic. It       was a promo-style video (they were obviously miming) as opposed to a       live, concert performance.              The band *isn't* Clannad, or Capercaillie, both of whom I know have       covered the song.              The location is a big, empty room, possibly a church interior; a large       expanse of wooden floorboards and a big, open arch in the background.              There are 6 in the group - 4 men, playing fiddle, tom-toms, bass or       electric guitar, and electric keyboard, and a woman banging a single drum.              The female vocalist has long, brown hair and a very strong jawline, not       unlike American actress Rene Russo.              Who are the band?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
