XPost: rec.music.country.old-time, rec.music.celtic, nf.general       XPost: nf.arts       From: dalton@nfld.com              Tonight I went to Folk Night at The Ship Pub and the headliner       was Newfoundland bluegrass band Crooked Stovepipe, who       recently released a kids' CD with singer Colleen Power. They       and the three open mic acts between the two headliner sets       impressed me, and there was a fine crowd.              Next Wednesday the headliner is celtic multi-instrumentalist singer       Duncan Cameron who is also at Erin's Pub on this       weekend with the new group The Poor Mouths. (Duncan       is also in The Irish Descendants.)              For more info on Wednesday folk night and how to apply       to play it and how to apply to play the annual folk festival       see http://www.nlfolk.com .              DRD              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
