XPost: nf.arts, nf.general, rec.music.bluenote.blues       From: dalton@nfld.com              The headliners at Folk Night at The Ship Pub in St. John's,       Newfoudnland this Wednesday, September 10, from 9--11:30 p.m.,       are Andrew Piercey and Suzanne Power. Cover is $5, there are       door prizes, there is an open mic set between the two       headline sets, and open mic performers get a free beer.              Here is the blurb from nlfolk.com :              Andrew Piercey and Suzanne Power have been musical pals for a long       time and it shows in the beautiful weaving of guitar and vocal       melodies these two produce. Their original blues-rock band, The       River, delivers high-energy performance with searing guitar solos       and vocal lines. They are currently working on their first recording.              You can find Andrew at the Fat Cat solo every second Wednesday and       rocking the acoustic blues with Darrell Cooper every Sunday. Suzanne       fronts local rock band Bedlam Beggars, shares the lead in the Salty       Dolls & the Moonshine Men, plays bass with Sherry Ryan and has       participated in a number of local tribute shows including tributes       to Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC. Andrew and Suzanne       are thrilled to be scaling it back a notch and getting a little       rootsy for Folk Night.              --       David Dalton dalton@nfld.com http://www.nfld.com/~dalton (home page)       http://www.nfld.com/~dalton/dtales.html Salmon on the Thorns (mystic page)       "I see my light come shining/From the west unto the east       Any day now, any day now/I shall be released" (Bob Dylan)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
