   This Wednesday,March 4, 9--11:30 p.m., at Folk Night at   
   The Ship Pub in St. John's, Newfoundland, the headliner   
   is multi-instrumentalist and singer Allan Ricketts.   
   Cover is $5, there are door prizes, there is an open   
   mic set between the two headline sets, and open mic   
   performers get a free beer.  Also the kitchen is open   
   until 8 p.m.   
      
   Here is Allan's bio from nlfolk.com :   
      
   Torbay native Allan Ricketts is a traditional musician playing   
   a wide range of instruments. Allan plays traditional   
   Newfoundland and Irish songs and tunes and has developed a   
   deeply authentic approach to this tradition. His second CD,   
   Rivers, released in August 2009, was nominated four times   
   through the NL Arts Council, ECMA and MusicNL.   
      
      
   Next week (March 11) the headliners are Jenny Gear and Sandy Morris.
