It was Ewan McColl who wrote the song and it appears on the BBC Radio Ballads
on Topic records. Despite the name Ewan McColl he was a Manchester man and
also wrote "I'm a rambler from Manchester Way" and "Dirty Old Town" on Topic
   Records.
