   True, but the fact is that hardly anybody is "buying" singles and the   
   singles charts have been totally irrelevant for years already when it comes   
   to what people are actually listening to.   
   And if the record companies had to exist on the sale of "single" type CD's   
   (as opposed to albums), they would have all shut up shop long, long ago.
