This post really belongs alt.religion.scientology and alt.support.ex-cult.

$cientology sees psychiatry and psychology as competitors, and slanders them
   at every opportunity.
As could be expected, the specifics of their criticisms of these practices
are hypocritical, Scientology having been proven to be guilty of violations
of law, human rights abuses, and cruelties just as bad if not worse than any
   attributed to psychiatry.
As psychiatry is based on medical science, it evolves and improves with
time. So-called "religions" never do, being based on blind faith,
   superstitions, and scams.

Scientology’s irrational hatred for psychiatry is well known. L. Ron
Hubbard sought to establish Dianetics as a competing therapy. When
thwarted, he reorganized and introduced Scientology as a religion.

Scientology continues its attack on mental health. They have chosen to
attack those who dedicate their lives to helping adopted children.
This is deplorable. Scientology does no good, and now it prevents good
   from being done.

You might want to take note of the identities of the participants in
   this activity:

Larry Sarner. Sarner tries to portray himself as a skeptic in the same
class as James Randi, but that’s flummery! Sarner is a quack and
practitioner of pseudoscience. Sarner has shown his disdain for tenets
of the scientific method and established techniques such as double
blind testing. It is not clear whether he has adopted some of
Scientology’s bizarre scientific beliefs, such as human evolution from
clams. There is, however, no doubt that Larry Sarner is committed to
Hubbard’s methods of using hatred and lies to discredit others.

Linda Rosa. She is Mrs. Larry Sarner. Rosa trained as a nurse, but,
rather than using her training to help, she uses it to hurt. Rosa and
Sarner operate a blog about torturing children. That’s bad enough. To
make things worse, they lack any evidence that children have been
tortured by those they are attacking! When pressed, they cannot name a
single “victim”! Hubbard, and Goebbels, would have been proud of them.

Jean Mercer (born Gene Lester). Mercer appears to have had a failed
adoption of her own, and now she has gone on the offensive. She does
hold a Ph.D. but she has never held a medical license. Dr. Mercer has
never treated a patient. What is the basis of her expertise in
criticizing others? The answer is none. Where are her facts? Many are
   still waiting to see them!

Charly D. Miller. Miller describes herself as a retired paramedic,
author, and consultant. A small number of people refer to her writings
as “incisive” but others refer to them as ludicrous. Not only that,
but she sees nothing wrong with copyright violations. She is also
quite fond of reposting legal correspondence, a great deal of it
reflecting the ineptitude of lawyers desperate and foolish enough to
   represent her.

Monica Pignotti. Pignotti aspired to a chair in a symphony orchestra,
but abandoned that dream for Scientology. Scientology was discarded
for Roger Callahan and Thought Field Therapy. Pignotti changed course
again. She entered social work. Not content to help others, she
appears to have embraced the caustic campaign against legitimate
therapeutic approaches. Monica Pignotti once fancied herself a
violist. Bela Bartok, himself oppressed by the Nazis, wrote a
beautiful viola concerto. One cannot help but wonder if Pignotti is
   immune to the irony here.
