From: wolverine01@charter.net              Got the first small trip in and learned a lot of useful things. Only       spent 3 days away, so not any extended usage information. It is easy to       drive and get around, and makes it easy to go off and explore if we want.              I will certainly look at getting the additional 30 gallon tank for fresh       water. The black and gray tanks never even showed coming up off empty       on the gauge, so they never got above 1/3 full. Got down to showing 1/3       on the 30 gallon fresh water tank, but it was probably somewhere there       and 1/2. With 60 gallons, I can see easily going a week without       anything and being able to stay anywhere.              The mileage was good, with it getting 17.8 MPG on the way up on smaller       roads, and 17.7 on the interstate at 70 MPH.              Had to run off a 20 amp 120 Volt plug the first night because the 30 amp       was broken, and it ran everything just fine, even with the AC on. Did       feel better once I was able to plug into the 30 amp the next day though.       But watching the power watchdog for how much it was drawing, I actually       think the solar will keep up pretty well with the fridge on and       occasional pump and minimal light usage. Might have to start the engine       or generator occasionally, but I don't see it as a big issue unless it       gets hot.              Finding a couple little things like a closet light that wouldn't hit the       push button to turn off, cross threaded outside water shower I'll have       to fix, but for the most part it all worked as expected.              Did have several campers stop by to inquire about the jack system it       has. Seems like many had not seen one like it on the Class C rigs.              Anyway, it was a good first outing.                     --       Stand With Israel!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
