From: wolverine01@charter.net              Went and did one of our favorite hikes when we're at home yesterday.       One of the Winnebago County Forest Preserves that has a nice camping       area. It's set in a grove of old and very tall white pines. It also       has primitive camping sites, around ten I think, right down along the       river. In the warmer months this place stays pretty busy as there is so       much to do with a playground for the kiddies, good hiking, great fishing       right along the river, and kayaking and tubing are very popular on the       slow moving Sugar River. I've fished at the place several times.              Yesterday temps around here were still pretty warm at about 60F, but it       has been getting into the lower 40's and even upper 30's at night.       There were about 10 RV's and trailers up in the campground, and 4 tents       set up in the primitive area. Cold and rainy overnight and today, so       these must be pretty hardy folks. Two of them were families with little       kids. I thought it was pretty cool they were willing to do this for the       family as the kids were having a great time.
