   I sincerely hope that you do not live in the United States,   
   because in our country we have a very different theory.   
   It goes that people are not given rights by law.   
   Rather, they have many inherent rights, which the   
   law happens to recognize. The most important thing about   
   a "right" is that it cannot be taken away.  While a law   
   might sometimes control how those rights are exercised,   
   no law can remove a person's rights.  The supreme law of   
   the land does not recognize that animals have any such rights.   
   Whether they really have any or not is a religous question.
