   Because emotions are value judgments based   
   on introspective knowledge about one's self. An   
   animal doesn't understand its own value the way   
   humans do, let alone judge that this value ought   
   to be maintained by oneself or others to avoid   
   disappointment. Emotions and animal behaviour
