On 23 Jul 2005 17:43:51 -0700 jcy@nevermind.org whittled these words:       > I have an old medication that I no longer take (Ambien, 10 MG) - is it       > safe to give this to a dog that is horrid in the car? I assume he'd       > take about a half pill, given as the dog in question is 80lbs, half the       > weight of a human.              In my experience if a drug is safe to use with a dog it is very easy to       find confirming information on the web. If there is controversy over the       use of a medication in dogs, that too is easy to find. When one finds       little to no information on benfits and concerns, dosing, etc then       generally that is because no one uses it with canines. And that would be       very rare if a medication was both safe and effective. My conclusion is       that it is an unsafe experiment.                     --       Diane Blackman       http://dog-play.com/       http://dogplay.com/Shop/dogplayshop.htm              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
