   It is sometimes helpful to give a gentle nudge to someone who is new.   
   But a person new to a newsgroup themselves isn't much in a position to   
   know whether comment is helpful or fanning the flames.  People who already   
   understand the social conventions usually don't respond well to someone   
   telling them they are "impolite."
