   We have a female beagle. Got her as a pup. We want to get another dog. But   
   my wife is concerned that Gracie (beagle) will be mean to the new dog. We   
   pet sat another female last year and constantly had to break them up. She   
   kept trying to start fights. And this last weekend my wife's brother and his   
   wife brought their choc. lab over. And Gracie kept growling at her and being   
   a general nuisance. Of course the lab pays no attention to her.   
      
   But my wife thinks if we get a male then she won't feel so threatened. I   
   think it won't matter either way. She's just jealous and there is nothing we   
   can do about it.
