   In spite of that, I *have* had a couple of people doctors admit mistakes to   
   me.  One saw me in his office in the morning, still insisting that I had   
   indigestion (and was getting a little impatient with my recurring visits).   
   I saw him the next day at my hospital bed - after they had taken out my   
   appendix.  He came to apologize.  I accepted the apology - because my   
   symptoms were atypical and there was no harm done.  Looking back, it was   
   extremely brave and honest of him to come.  (And yes, he could have ordered   
   the bloodwork rather than write me off as an hysterical woman patient.  I   
   hope he learned something.)
