|    Almost forgot - Expected Bowl Announceme    |
|    28 Nov 23 06:09:13    |
From: don.p.del.grande@gmail.com              Based on how it has been done in the past, here is when the bowl announcements       will be made:       (all times Eastern)              12:25 or so - Rose, Sugar       2:30 or so - Fiesta, Cotton, Peach, Orange       after that - Gronk...oh, and at least 33 of the remaining 34. The fact that       none of Minnesota's official social media sites have commented about being       bowl eligible yet makes me think that the school thinks that Army needs to       beat Navy. My guess is,        since the Quick Lane bowl is the last Big Ten-contracted bowl to get to       choose, it will hold out until it knows if the 82nd team is Minnesota or Navy.              The only reason I don't think that the NCAA is going to announce a repeat of       the "Frisco Classic" from 2021 right away is, if Army beats Navy, it won't be       needed. On the other hand, what happens if there is a 42nd game announced,       between Minnesota and        Mississippi State (the next 5-7 team in the APR order, IIRC), only for       Mississippi State to announce, "Er, we stopped practicing after 11/25, and who       knows where half of our players are now"? (Oh, wait, I almost forgot, it's an       SEC school - if it can't        dig up 85 players at a moment's notice, it should be kicked out of the       conference.)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
