From: mianderson79@gmail.com              So a few minutes ago I bought a bungalow cash in an intown atlanta       neighborhood.(I split my time now between alabama and georgia) It's a       relatively small bungalow for the area(where jumbo bungalows are common; this       one is about 2k squate foot) and is in        decent shape but needs some updating remodeling. It's generally considered one       of the better intown neighborhoods(I won't say which one specifically but for       anyone who knows atlanta it is close to midtown, close to botanical gardens,       and has 'park' in        the name..whatever). Because it is relatively small and needs some updating I       won't say the exact price but it was more than 1.5 and less than 2. So it's       not like exactly a place the kardashians would live but it's not a slum area       either.....              I'm giving the background here because:              1) my car has been broken into TWICE now in this short period of time       2) I've counted *16* presumed different homeless wanderers within 100 yards of       my property at some point(usually riding a too small bicycle for them) in the       last month alone(november.....and thats only when I've been in town)              I went to the neighborhood association meeting to discuss these concerns.        We(by we I mean homeowners) pay 5-600 a year to hire off-duty police officers       to cover shifts to make a presence in the neighborhood and deter these sort of       crimes.              And the response I got? A lot of "yeah it's pretty safe here but there is       some property crime; it's just part of living here" to "you definately have to       be careful of your surroundings; don't walk alone after dark" to "the homeless       are just part of the        local character here and adds appeal"              I swear to god someone said the latter.               I just didn't expect this.....I've not lived in a lot of intown areas of       cities before, but if this is what it is like I may sell after another 6       months or so and move to buckhead lol.....(the only reason I didn't in the       first place because that's        farther north and when I travel 'home' to visit family in middle georgia it       would have taken longer to get there)......              Oh and I have Georgia -4.5 tommorrow big and a Georgia/Oregon ML parlay(pays       about .90 for every dollar)......the parlay is a good big play but it's going       to win win win. Go ducks!!!              I also have a futures michigan play(to win natl title...at various prices       through the year now it's like +190 if anyone is interested) and Bo Nix at       various prices to win heisman.               --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
