From: james.m.gibson@gmail.com              Sagarin Predictor:       1. Oregon       2. Michigan       3. Ohio State       4. Texas       5. Penn State              Dolphin Predictive:       1. Michigan       2. Oregon       3. Ohio State       4. Texast'       5. Penn State              ESPN FPI:       1. Michigan       2. Ohio State       3. Penn State       4. Oregon       5. Alabama              Team Rankings:       1. Michigan       2. Ohio State       3. Oregon       4. Penn State       5. Georgia              FEI Ratings:       1. Michigan       2. Oregon       3. Ohio State       4. Georgia       5. Penn State              F+ Ratings:       1. Michigan       2. Oregon       3. Georgia       4. Ohio State       5. Penn State              Throughout these predictive ratings, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, and Penn       State make repeated top 5 appearances. But aside from Kirby Smart, nobody is       making arguments for any of these teams to actually be in the CFP. Which       means that it's not really        the best 4 teams. It's really the 4 teams with the best season. Which is why       an injury to a QB shouldn't be a DQ.              Oregon is likely better than Washington based on other common games. But       Washington beat them twice. So, we reward Washington.              It's possible that if Michigan really is the best team in the nation that Ohio       State is really the second best team and Penn State is really the third best       team. But we know Penn State is not the best team due to the losses to Ohio       State and Michigan,        so nobody is going to argue for those 3 in the playoffs.              Georgia and Ohio State would actually have better arguments than Oregon or       Penn State, but nobody is seriously arguing for their inclusion either, even       though it seems likely that both of them are among the 4 best teams.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
