   No, I'm saying it's a he-said, she-said.

To quote JMS (also from The Lurker's Guide):

BTW...it was stated to Claudia's people that WB *could* drop her down
to 18 episodes if she wanted to be paid for only those 18 episodes,
but her reps demanded that she should be paid for all 22 regardless,
   and didn't take that deal.

They could both be telling the truth. Claudia says, "I was never offered"
and JMS says, "it was stated to Claudia's people." Since Claudia never
says she would have accepted that offer it's a moot point.

We'll never know, we weren't there. All we can be fairly certain of is
that what Claudia wanted (a written guarantee of time off to film another
project) was something JMS couldn't give her (within the bounds of the
contract that the rest of the cast had already signed on to). The rest
of it seems to be no more than what you might expect when you have several
parties (Claudia, her agent, JMS, John Copeland, and WB) trying to work
something out under a tight deadline and some inevitable miscommunication.
It didn't work out, the deadline passed, let's move on.
