I also recently rewatched the series. I finally purchased seasons 4 and 5
and before watching them I rewatched most of seasons 1-3. I then watched
all of season 4 in a few days. Then when it came time to watch season 5, it
took me several weeks to get through the first few episodes. Once I got
into season 5 it wasn't as bad as I remembered but coming after season 4
defitely didn't help. And yes it does hold up very well.
