XPost: rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated       From: dfreybur@yahoo.com              Folks, most especially members of the moderation team,              There's currently a UseNet wide clean-up project going on to remove or       repair any moderated newsgroup that is broken. The project as reached       an assortment of newsgroups under rec.arts and it has reached       rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.info as well as similar Doctor Who and Star       Trek groups. Anyone interested should subscribe to       news.annouce.newgroups and anyone who might want to join the       discussion should subscribe to news.groups.proposals*.              I have top posted this to include the entire post about it below       without any alterations. Neither RASTB5 nor RASTB5.mod was included in       the distribution to keep the list getting the announcement down to 4       groups - Many NSPs drop any message posted to 5+ groups and many users       filter based on number of groups.              Is RASTB5.info still needed? If members of the original moderation team       are around they can join the discussion and ask for the group to be       deleted if the group will no longer be used.              If members of the RASTB5.mod moderation team wish to take over       RASTB45.info as well I'm sure that would not be a problem either. Among       moderated newsgroups RASTB5.mod has the highest reputation.              Reading the charter it describes much of the best quality traffic here       on RASTB5.mod so my first guess is to go ahead and let RASTB5.info go       away. It's current status bounces any submission.              * I am a member of the news.groups.proposals moderation team as well as       a long term Babylon5 fan so my bias is I want lots of folks to subscribe       to NGP to join the discussion and then later to stay active on the group       helping out newsgroups in general. UseNet works on volunteers.              Doug Freyburger <*>              Alexander Bartolich wrote:       >       > MODERATOR VACANCY INVESTIGATION (MVI)       > moderated group rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.info       >       > This is a formal Moderator Vacancy Investigation (MVI), begun because       > moderated newsgroup rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.info is not functioning,       > and may have been abandoned by its moderator(s).       >       > This investigation will attempt to verify the reasons for non-function,       > and may result in the removal of the group or the selection and instal-       > lation of a new moderator.
