   The pilot was made a year before the show, and a different alien-makeup   
   company was involved, so all the aliens look different.  But in Delenn's   
   case, the change was bigger than with the rest, as explained below.

   No, definitely male.  The chrysalis machine would have done something   
   even more spectacular than it did.

   But it sounded wrong, so they gave up on the idea, and had all the   
   actors in the pilot who had referred to Delenn with the words "he",   
   "him", or "his" rerecord the lines with "she", "her" or "hers".
