In "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" we see an evolved
human reviewing an archive of human history that he is making a copy
of to take to "New Earth". The computer interupts several times to
report "solar anomalies" that present a danger.

On CompuServe, JMS explained that humanity had migrated and
had triggered the Sun to nova early so it would wipe out all traces of
their technology to avoid leaving anything behind to interfere with
the development of younger races - learning from the First Ones'
   mistakes.
