Well, it was always public knowledge that it was set up to "protect"
Straczynski from story ideas and outright abuse, and fair enough.

What they were not honest about is the fact that the sole aim of the
group is to allow him to stifle dissenting voices, and blatantly
market his tat to people in a way that is bordering on the Orwellian.
("Want to contact the Great Maker? All that's needed is a high degree
of sycophancy and no self respect. Sign here, and here, and"...)

What they were also not honest about was the degree of control
Straczynski had (and tried to increase) over the group's content and
   membership.

The one thing that his little hissy-fit about me did bring to light
for the first time was that he'd tried previously to get me banned,
but wouldn't admit it at the time, leaving me no option but to use
differing accounts to access the group because all Denebeim would say
was that there must be something wrong with the moderation software.

In The Emperor's white heat of righteous indignation and general
teddy-throwing, he let that one slip out.
