   That's debateable.   
      
   Does the opening crawl mean the story takes place "a long time ago" and   
   "far far away" from us.   
      
   OR does it take place "a long time ago" and "far, far away" from the   
   narrator of the story (some view C-3PO as the narrator, but that's   
   mostly a misunderstanding by him telling the story to the Ewoks) - the   
   unknown Whills mentioned in the novelisation.   
      
   OR is it simply an opening phrase just like any fairytale's "A long   
   time ago" even though we know the story never actually happened at all.
