Anakin did use the Force to help predict when was the best time to jump
   to intercept Zam's flyer.

Obi-Wan correctly guessed (or sensed) that the droid was being watched
from near by and was trying to hitch a quick ride back to the person
   behind the attempt.

Foolish? Possibly, but they were also educated "guesses" or instinct
that paid off in the end. It's that "gut instinct" which often
separates "the best" from all the others at whatever they're doing.
