   It was very clear they didn't want to train him.   
      
   But the age wasn't the real reason. They didn't need to spend all those   
   hours questioning Anakin just to figure out how many candles to put on his   
   next birthday cake. Just as with that other movie, it's just Jedi shorthand   
   for "Can't you just let me off with an easy, cut and dried excuse so we   
   don't have to spend all night arguing that he's [not] too   
   [angry/fearful/reckless]. Jedi Grand Master Lucas is getting bored with all   
   these talky scenes and wants to get to the next CGI battle."
