   I found it highly suspicious that Palpatine started doing so badly as   
   Anakin arrived, and that Palpatine was losing to Mace but later proves   
   to be more than a match for Yoda. Of course even assuming that   
   Palpatine really was losing to Mace, had there been no Anakin then had   
   Palpatine been exposed by other means and killed, then Dooku would   
   have continued for him.
