   Anakin was still really only a Padawan (made a Jedi at Palaptine's   
   request). There's no way the Council would have let a learner anywhere   
   near a full Sith Lord. Mace Windu didn't even like using him as a spy   
   against the supposedly weaak old man Palpatine.
