It depends on how you play them.

If you play them like most other shows (eg. here in New Zealand that's
a new episode every week, then a break until next season), then you're
probably about right with 100 episodes = 4 years.

If you play them like a weekly soap opera (ie. every week without a
break between "seasons"), then 100 episodes = 2 years, being 50 weeks
in the year minus 2 for Christmas break.

If you play them every weekday, like a daytime soap opera or many kids'
cartoons, then 100 episodes = 100 days, which is roughly 3.5 months.

Nice for Steve Sansweet ... what about the rest of us. ;-)

It's been happening here in New Zealand that way too, at least for the
bigger name shows for a while (eg. shows like Lost, ER, even
Australia's McLeod's Daughters being played up to only a few weeks
later). Even some of the lesser, niche, stuff like Stargate: Atlantis
isn't THAT far behind, although other shows like the new "Battlestar
Galactica" has only recently been playing season 2 (and that was
   dropped part way through).
