Well, OK, but even there, you have the "better dead than red"
social commentary. The preaching about humans and subjugation and
"we're not insects" and such. I think some of the notable Heinlein
quotes on that general topic come from tPM, though I can't quote
chapter and verse just off the top of my head. Hm. Consider, perhaps,
the bits about an uncontrolled human as referee in the death matches,
or the bits about our Manifest Destiny to wipe the slugs from the
face of the universe, etc; these don't really seem markedly less
notable than the MD and/or "survival is its own justification" stuff
in ST. At least IMO. Less pervasive and showcased, maybe, but still.

And was SiaSL really "how the world should be run"? I'm not sure.

On the other hand, I suppose tPM *is* probably a better intro than
either ST or SiaSL. Just I wouldn't say because it's "lighter",
or "less preachy" on the whole, especially than SiaSL.

   Maybe I'm misremembering.
