   Because you were meant to see the movie in the cinema.  ;-)   
      
   I think it's only really the background story of the Clone Wars and   
   things like Ankain and his Padawan's growing student-teacher   
   relationship that are continuous. Each episode (or two/three part   
   story) are basically separate stories on top of that.   
      
   If you are really worried you could read the novelisation / kids'   
   version first. They might even show the movie again as the first few of   
   episodes of TV (maybe with the "deleted" scenes re-included).
